Welcome to The Purple Playground Indigo Experience featuring saxophonist Adrian Crutchfield and Friends! Get ready for an unforgettable evening filled with soulful music and vibrant energy.

Adrian’s star began shining at the age of four when he received his first saxophone during a concert in Roanoke, VA from acclaimed jazz artist Kenny G; who noticed Adrian’s interest from the audience, stopped the show, and invited him to the stage, playing a childish melody, and finally bestowing the sax to young Adrian.

Known as the last horn-man to perform and record (2012-2016) with Prince and the New Power Generation; Adrian is featured on many of Prince’s final masterpieces including the 2017 Grammy-Nominated Hit-N-Run Phase 2.

Adrian has also had the privilege of performing with many of today’s brightest stars such as Lionel Richie, Bette Midler, Ceelo Green, R&B icon Anthony Hamilton, Fantasia Barrino, KC and JoJo, and with hip hop superstar Young Jeezy. In jazz Mr. Crutchfield has been featured by names such as Brian Culbertson, Kim Waters, Mike Philips, Alex Bugnon, Jeff Lorber, and Branford Marsalis; and with legendary groups such as Fourplay and The Gap Band featuring Charlie Wilson.

Praised by saxophonist Dave Koz as a favorite and most highly anticipated up-and-coming artist; this saxophone aficionado is one of his generation’s most prolific and lauded musicians.

Celebrate Prince’s birthday with legendary Twin Cities band Dr. Mambo’s Combo!

Forever In My Life: A Birthday Tribute to Prince features a diverse collection of songs across the many eras and styles of Prince, including his work with The Revolution and The New Power Generation, as well as songs he wrote for other artists.  Dr. Mambo’s Combo’s unique relationship with Prince will give the audience a true picture of the artist and the Minneapolis Sound.

World renowned Dr. Mambo’s Combo has been performing at Bunker’s Music Bar & Grill since 1987 – one of the longest running weekly residencies anywhere in America.  The band quickly became Prince’s favorite – playing soul, rock, and r&b music with unmatched passion and fire – and audiences have flocked to their weekly performances ever since.  In addition to Prince, many national touring artists often stop by to sit in with the band after their own show – including John Mayer, Sheila E, Stokley, Larry Graham, and Bonnie Raitt.

The current band lineup features Julius Collins, Margaret Cox, and Monique Blakey on lead vocals; Sonny Thompson on bass, Brian Ziemniak on keys; Geoff LeCrone on guitar; and Peter Suttman on drums.
